We’ve been doing this for over 50 years – but what matters is how we do it today.

Migele Experience exists to deliver hair that feels considered, effortless, and personal. Every decision we make – from training to consultation, from timing to atmosphere – is designed around the guest experience.

We believe great salons are built on culture, not chaos. On education, not ego. On consistency, not shortcuts.

Our team is our strength. Our guests are our purpose. And how you feel when you leave matters just as much as how you look.

It’s never just hair. It’s how it makes you feel.

We’ve had several brand names since our conception in 1972.

At the beginning, it was Dom Michele, an abbreviation of my first name, Domenico and my middle name Michele.

I do recall one of my cousins advising that perhaps it was not a good idea to include my middle name, as the locals in Buckhaven would pronounce it as the female English first name version but I was defiant and suggested that I would correct and educate that it should be pronounced Mekelly, Italian for Michael.

Unfortunately, my cousin was correct and so the spelling changed to Migele thus Dom Migele was launched.

In keeping with the 70s and with the opening of our new salon in Glenrothes, it was originally named Dom Migele’s Hairobatics.

How embarrassing, and that’s why it changed very quickly to simply Dom. Migele and it was with that title that we began to build our reputation.

Then we opened our flagship salon in Tolbooth Street, Kirkcaldy and we placed more emphasis on the experience.

We looked around us, and every salon’s name was followed by hairdressing, so we took a deep breath, and we became ‘Migele Experience’ which forced us to focus on the total salon experience and the team rather than on one individual.

Now at our new location in Whythouse Avenue, we are completely focused on making you FEEL fabulous as well as making you LOOK fabulous.

So, 50 years on, the most important people today are our salon guests and our team.
